Top ten movies of 1990

I have all my top ten lists going back to 1985.  Here is my top ten/worst ten for 1990.  Overall a pretty good year for movies.  Most of these I'd watch again on dvd or if they showed up on HBO.  I'm sure many would put Goodfella's higher on the list.  I never was a big fan.

1) Presumed Innocent--- Even though this was not a great year for movies, this movie would make my top ten in any year!  This movie has a great plot, makes you think, and the acting is great.  Harrison Ford is GREAT.  Bonnie Bedelia is  Great. Raul Julia is the best he has been.  Good movie from start to finish. This is one movie that WAS as good as the book.

2) Dances with Wolves--- One of the last movies I saw in 1990, but definitely one of the best.  I stayed away from this movie when it first came out because of the 3 hour length, but I never once looked at my watch. It was very well paced, you never once wished something would happen. Kevin Costner is great at acting and directing.

3) Hunt for Red October--- I saw this movie several times iin 1990. This is a very good movie and almost as good as the book.  I have always liked Sean Connery and he is very good as the Russian Sub commander.  Alec Baldwin does very well  as the CIA agent dragged into the mess.  Another good movie that makes you think!

4) Misery--- Best movie I never want to see again!  Cathy Bates does an excellent job as the crazy woman that finds her favorite author after a bad car wreck. James Cann plays the author that is abused and nearly killed.  Very suspenseful.  Rob Reiner cant make a bad movie!

5) Kindergarten Cop--- Arnold S. makes my top ten/worst ten list nearly every year. Either he has a very good movie or a very bad one.  This is a Very enjoyable movie.  He really is becoming a good actor, not just a bunch of muscle.  He does well at the tough guy and the softy that plays with the little kids.

6) Die Hard II--- This movie was not nearly as good as Die Hard, but still one of the better movies of 1990.  I had this rated higher until I saw it the second time and picked the movies apart. I hope Bruce Willis can make a good movie  that dosent have Die in the title. He hasn't so far.  Bonnie Bedelia is always great.

7) Ghost--- Without a doubt a female type movie, but  enjoyable none the less.  The best movie Whopie Goldberg has ever made.  Demi Moore has looked better (very short hair now) but did okay.  Patrick Swezey plays his part very well.

8) Pretty Woman--- Another female movie.  This movie was very predictable, but also very good.  I'm glad Richard Gere made another good movie.  Julia Roberts has been good in  every movie she has made.

9) Tremors--- Just your basic fun movie.  Fred Ward and Kevin Bacon are very funny as the county bumpkins that run across some big worms that tunnel underground and eat people and things.

10) Predator 2--- In alot of years this would not make the top ten.  It's a good basic action adventure.  This time   Danny Glover kills the Aliens instead of Arnie.  Some decent   acting and you are on the edge of your seat for most of the  movie.

Honorable mention

1) Goodfellas--- Good mafia movie, but no Godfather.
2) Memphis Belle--- Good war movie, but you
3) Home Alone--- Cute, but wore thin toward the end.
4) Quick Change---Bill Murry and Gena Davis are very funny
